Help duckling hatch out of egg?

So i'm in the process of helping my duckling hatch out of his shell which has been going on for almost 24 hours now. He's getting weaker. I've got pretty much the top half of the egg shell off if you were to stand it up and split it down vertically. But there seems to be two membranes. The outer one which i have pulled most off of, and an inner one that which when gets wet you can clearly see the veins are attached to. Should i keep pulling this membrane off too if he can't bust his way out now? How much longer should i give it?

sometimes the shell can be too hard for them to get out of. I do think though that at this point you should break them out carefully Try not to handle the eggs too much, just listen if you can without moving them but if the picking is sounding really erratic or weak... break them out. peel back shell at the hole where the chick is pipping to check it better, and see if it's moving or adhered to the shell.

    Be very careful.

He's getting weaker? How will he gain strength if a human is hatching his egg for him? Let him come out by himself.

We helped birth a couple of turkey and guineas they didn't live past two days. If he can't make it out of the shell then you are not really helping the species.
