What is the purpose of increasing Ticket prices by 6.5% at the Emirates?

Arsenal will make approximately £4.5 million net profit over the next 12 months from the decision to raise admission prices by 6.5%.

Will this possibly chase away the "true fans" who lack the financial ability to pay for such prices?

Update:

Anfailed Aces why did you even bother to answer? ...

Update 2:

Well I remember instances where our fans were quite passionate mainly against Barcelona..

Well I hope this move goes according to plan..I think this could work in the long-term..but regular fans will not be pleased at all.

Update 3:

A loan from you Aces? lol no thanks :| I think I'm financially stable right about now :)

Update 4:

Update 5:

Well I'm not saying that instance makes up for the whole season.....just saying if they were bothered like this every time it would be much better..would help the players confidence as well no point groaning when things don't go your way.

The club is just pressuring itself more into buying top-draw players... we are paying high-priced tickets... so we want to see some quality players at Ashburton... no more bargain-basement shite...

And yes, it is chasing away the "True fans"... I used to be a regular at the Emirates and now I can barely manage to get a fecking Carling Cup game...

I prefer going to Away games... our Away fans are one of the best in the country and I prefer singing with other passionate fans than sit in silence with feckless fans who are too shy to sing at the Emirates...

The advantage of this of course is... our club will just get richer and richer and is ideally positioned for when FFPR is implemented... so it's most likely short term pain, long term gain for the fans... if all goes to plan...

    EDIT

So? Just one instance against Barca and a few decent atmospheres against Spurs... doesn't add up to a "Good atmosphere" in my book... I'm a football fan before I'm an Arsenal supporter... that's why I openly blast the Emirates' atmosphere... beautiful stadium, yes... but no passion which hurts me...

Don't you wonder why we have a shite Home Form but brilliant Away? Crap Home fans... brilliant Away fans... *Leaves you to put 2 and 2 together*... and that night against Barca had an excellent loud atmosphere... and we ended up winning... how can we expect the players to give any effort if the fans can't be ar5ed to even SING?

  • Those are the disadvantages of living in big cities.

They know that they have lots of rich people there and hence they can increase the prices as and when they wish.

    Interesting stats:

The Liverpool ticket costs only about 38 GBP. Half of the Arsenal ticket. :D

i dont like this stan kroenke guy. a bit too shady. would have been better if usmanov was a major share holder of arsenal. the guy would have atleast invested in new players..stan kroenke is gonna f*ck up arsenal, wait n see.
