Mariah Carey/Nick Cannon's twins' names?

Girl: Monroe - named after one of Mariah's idols, Marilyn Monroe

Boy: Moroccan - named after the style in which one of their homes is decorated

Thoughts, opinions?

Personally I don't care for either name at all.

,,,another attack of celebrity-itis as in who can be more kre8tiv and yoo-neek

I think celebrities carefully choose names in a one-upsmanship manner...the children themselves don't matter but the impression they make on the press is quite important.

It's not really too hard on the children since these people associate with each other and bizarre names are the norm not the exception.

By they time they reach adulthood, they'll be used to their oddball monikers and able to handle ridicule because they didn't have the bullying an average kid would take being called Kal-El or Dweezil.

Apple is almost starting to look pretty - almost but it's still a random noun masquerading as a name.

Monroe is awful and not very feminine. I agree just going with Marilyn would have been MUCH cuter! Of course, Monroe Cannon does flow more easily that Marilyn Cannon would have. Moroccan Cannon sounds horrible. If someone asked me if I had heard about Moroccan Cannon I would think "Did another war spring up in Africa?!" Weird. If a normal person had named their twins this people would think they were a fruit loop. I don't know why celebs get a pass for giving their children embarrassing names.

Really awful, couldn't believe it yesterday. An adjective/nationality and a surname. Mo & Mo. For twins. Moroccan Cannon sounds atrocious phonetically, as well. Ugh.

    And what's wrong with Marilyn?

''Boy: Moroccan - named after the style in which one of their homes is decorated''

LOL. I'd have a little kid named ''Cluttered.''

Monroe is boring... Marilyn would have been cuter.

And since when do Nationalities make good names? I think I'll name my kids French and Swedish... blah.

Monroe isn't bad, but I expected something so completely girly from her. Moroccan is a nationality, not a name. I can see this in his future:

    Him: "Hi, I'm Moroccan."

Person: "Hi, I'm German" (or any other nationality)

I would have much perferred Morocco, but even that I don't really like.

There's so much proof that you only need half a brain to be a celebrity and a parent at the same time. Moroccan...really?

I don't like the names at all. Nick said that Morrocan was like a mixture of both his and Mariah's name.

I like Monroe but it is so a guilty pleasure name!

I would nickname them Rocky & Roe to spare the poor things the humiliation!
