my computers not shutting my monitor off?
i have a dell. back in the day when the computer didn't do this, if you turned the monitor on with out the computer being on. the black screen would show with some sort of screen saver with 5 colors on it saying what color it was and it moved around.
well now when i shut my computer down, the monitor goes into that state instead of powering down like it use to.
i want the monitor to power down when i shut my power off on the computer!
i messed around on the power options to check it out and i made it so the monitor shuts off in 1 minute. and instead of powering down, it just goes to that dell monitor screen saver again.
what could be wrong?

nothing is wrong from what you've said you just worry to much and spend to much time staring at the monitor when the computer isn't on
I'd say stop worrying and push the power button and maybe go get some mental help for worrying about such a minor thing
