What's so bad about mainstream music?

A lot of people hate it, I think it's alright. What's so wrong about it?

Nothing - the reason it's called mainstream is because it's the music enjoyed by the largest number of people - and if it's the favorite musical style for the majority of the people, there can't be that much wrong with it. It isn't highbrow, isn't experimental or off the wall - it's just nice music.

Well, for me personally, I don't like it because... well... it's mainstream, MEANING that it's probably well known, which leads to it being well PLAYED on the radio, between friends, etc. I don't really not like "mainstream" music, but I DO like new music, and when I hear a song on the radio every day for a week straight, just doesn't do it for meh.

    Just my point of view.

EDIT: if a band has a good mainstream song that I like, I always get the album. So there's always different songs on that that I usually like... so... yeah...

    :D

Over-produced, terrible song-writing, lack of talent. too sensitized, no originality, boring beats and uncreative musicality, no heart, corporate etc.

it's just production for the masses for the sake of making money.
