What would be some good hairstyles for my prom?

Question

I have long straight hair thats cut with a scene look, I have no idea what to do with my hair! My dress is strapples and really crazy detailed. I think I want it something like a side ponytail but that seems a little plain for something like prom. Any ideas? 
I'd like to keep it straight, But im open to ideas! Thanks! :)

pretty much looks like you take your shorter layers an poof them up and curl :)
