Is it true? Dec. 12,2012 end of the World?

If you know about the amazing Mayan calendar, you would see that thinking that it has anything to do with determining the end of the world is ridiculous.

The Maya calendar is a system of calendars and almanacs used in the Maya civilization of pre-Columbian Mesoamerica, and in some modern Maya communities in highland Guatemala and Oaxaca, Mexico.

The essentials of the Maya calendric system are based upon a system which had been in common use throughout the region, dating back to at least the 5th century BCE. It shares many aspects with calendars employed by other earlier Mesoamerican civilizations, such as the Zapotec and Olmec, and contemporary or later ones such as the Mixtec and Aztec calendars. Although the Mesoamerican calendar did not originate with the Maya, their subsequent extensions and refinements of it were the most sophisticated. Along with those of the Aztecs, the Maya calendars are the best-documented and most completely understood.

i dnt think it would end, i think it would change. but i think the world will end when there are'nt any natural resources left that living things need to survive. then we'll have a serious problem, so what we need to do is take care of our world because if not, we would be the ones who would destroy it, not outside forces. it might be true that something is going to happen in 2012. i heard that the sun would somehow explode radiation to earth and that would be the cause of the end of the world. i think that it wont happen exactly in 2012, in fact it could happen tomorrow or in 10 years. there are so many end of the world theories and thats why people are afriad, they dnt kno whitch one would come true. my answer is, as i explain earlier, no, the world is not going to end in 12,2012 so you dnt need to worry. but if it does, well then we would have to wait and see.

The Mayan Calendar ends on December 21, 2012 because it is a winter solstice. The end of the Mayan Calendar does not mean the end of the world. The Mayans probably just figured they wrote far enough into the future for now and they'd pick it up and continue writing when it got closer to where they had left off.

The poles are switching. In a March news cast I watched, they said that by this time next year, so March 2012. The magnetic north will be in Russia... Not even kidding.

Basically, majority of people and scientists have their theories, but NO ONE really knows when the world is really going to end. But, being that tomorrow is never promised, I would advise you to live each day as if it was your last. I am not sure if you are religious, but there is only one individual who knows when that day is. Thus, the Almighty creator has complete control over that.

The answer depends upon an individual's religious view. I am a Christian who doesn't believe in the 2012 Mayan Prophecy primarily because God made me believe that He has set an unknown date of Final Judgment for us all. That is my belief.

yea don't you remember y2k and all the lives lost during nuclear fallout. Same situation. You should build a bunker and lock yourself in for 20 years just to be safe
