Are the History and English classes of any use to me since I want to be a computer programmer?

I'm a sophomore in high school and I want to be a programmer, I'm in a program that "focuses" on math and tech. but the hardest courses are English and History (because they are AP). Should I drop the program to be able to take more math and computer classes? If I do I get 3 open spots for more classes I can take. If I don't, I have to stay and take the 4 core classes all four years which only leaves me with 1 computer class a semester.

Update:

@Kemperk, but what about my main classes that I actually for real need to be a programmer? The priority of Math and Computer classes are being taken away by AP ENglish and AP History

what timing in your question!! This EXACT question has been asked by me [ahead of my earning

my several degrees] and when in high school in the 60's [when i was a poor student.]

English enables one to write coherently, concisely and in a very focused manner and to

    catch errors in others' writings.

History helps you understand how you go to be an IT student; there was no such thing

when I was in high school as there was no such thing as a PC or IT.

    Luck to you
