How might I be able to tell if a RAM will go with my motherboard?

    Identify if the motherboard supports DDR2 or DDR3 RAM.

    Determine the maximum speed that it supports

    the ram you buy has to match either DDR2 or DDR3 and it's speed has to be equal to or less than the max speed supported by your motherboard

    Check the manual for your computer. If you don't have a manual go the manufacturer's website and type in the model number and/or .model name.
