you can't be considered great unless you win WITHOUT a supporting cast?

is this when all the idiots come on here or something?

in that case, throw kobe and jordan out of the discussion for greatest of all time, period. unless you want to sound like a complete utter hypocrite. which is find with me.

is scottie pippen, horace grant, dennis rodman, steve kerr, shaq, pau gasol, lamar odom, derek fisher not valid enough of a list to put into the category of supporting cast?

is mo williams a second option that matches up with hall of famers like Shaquille o'neal in his prime or scottie pippen one of the best lock down defenders on the perimeter ever?

and to top it all.. people are acting like they can see the future. how in the world does one know how a player will age? that's like knowing whether derrick rose will have his career slowed down by the time hes 24 due to injuries.. thats not something you can "know". its just a pessimistic way to make lebron seem worse than he is.

Update:

fine** not find.

Update 2:

@bob so playing alongside a top 3 player makes you a coward or something? Shaq was arguably the best in the LEAGUE when he played with kobe. he was the mvp one year there.. maybe two i dont remember exactly.

what difference does it make whether he leaves his team or not? either way he is still playing with another high caliber player. it's not lebrons fault clevelands management got him mo williams as his best teammate out of seven years.

Look at LeBron in Cleveland, Garnett in Minnesota, Kobe between Shaw and Pau, Jordan in the 80s, Oscar Robertson, Wilt Chamberlain and many more examples. Great players haved carried teams a lot of regular season wins and the playoffs. But no matter how great they were, they couldn't win championship until they joined forces with another great player or two. Basketball lets individual talents show, but it's still a team game. If you can't be considered great until you win it all with a weak supporting cast, then no one can be considered great.

This a bunch of garbage. Every great player has had a "supporting cast" their no way you can do it all by yourself. Kobe had Shaq, Robert Horry, Derrek Fisher, Rick Fox, Brian Shaw. Jordan has Pippen, Kerr, Grant, and others. Magic Johnson had, Kareem, and James Worthy, D Wade had Shaq, Jason Williams, Gary Payton, A.Walker and Alonzo Mourning. You need role players to help complement your star or stars.

I am not a lebron fan, never have been. But here is why he will never be the greatest. I agree you need the supporting cast.

    1. The greats dont go, people come to them.

    2. He is not even the best player on his own team. Wade is.

    3. He lacks the killer instinct, lebron himself said he doesnt have the killer instinct.

and I never thought shaq was the best, he wasnt. He was the most dominant, theirs a huge difference.

some human beings do no longer in easy terms like the way that Kobe won his 3 first titles . a lot of human beings think of that Kobe , by way of fact of his 4 rings he's extra useful than James or Wade. it quite isn't any longer genuine Kobe is sturdy , yet he replaced into fortunate too .

Jordan and Kobe didnt leave there team to go join someones elses team

Also keep in mind Lebron went to join another player who is Top 3 in the NBA.

Thats what I call a cop out...If he is suppsed to be "King" then he should act like a king and gets players to come to him not leave his hometown team to play second fiddle for DWADE.

This is great! I've hated LeBron haters for him leaving. Who did Cleveland ever give him? He gave up money to win. Too many ppl say pro athletes only want money but when LeBron goes for the championships rather than the money everyone hates him. wtf?
