Do skinny guys get extra food in recruit training?

I am 5'6 128lbs and I constantly hear that I would be put on "DOUBLE RATIONS" or a weight gain diet in recruit training. Is this true does anybody have any experience relating to this?

Yes. Skinny guys will get a tag on there uniform that says "Double Rat" and the fat guys will get a tag that says "Restricted Diet". After you get your food slapped on to your tray by the guy working the chow hall line your Drill Instructor waits at the end of the line. He will inspect what you're eating and makes sure you are following your tag. Then he'll tell you to get the F@#ck away from him. Aye Aye Sir!!! and go sit down.

I was a double rat in Boot. I was 5'11" 140lbs. When boot camp was over I was 5'11" 185lbs of good lean muscle mass.

Well in the Marine Corp. The guys that were too skinny were put on double rations, and the fat guys were put on a restricted diet. There are separate lines that they all go through. As for YOU, it might happen, but no one can say. You have no control over who is put on a diet. The majority of recruits get the same amount of food.

You will have equal rations as other recruits but the question is will you have enough time to finish your food? Most basic training in all branches gives you only 2-4 minutes to eat. The time starts when the first person goes through the line and if you're last in line on your team, then good luck. I'm a fast eater but there were times when I had to use water after each bite to throw it down as fast as possible.

Yes. You will be on double rations. But the catch is you still have the same amount of time as everybody else to eat it. On paper yes but you won't really be eating more than other recruits. Which is good. You shouldn't get extra food.

Fat bodies get less food then the others.

Nope. You'll get the same size serving and portions as everyone else. Don't worry. You'll be eating so fast you won't have time to worry about it....Recruit training is executed at a VERY hectic pace!

    YES.

If they feel a need to have you put on weight, they will put you on a special diet.

The fact is the philosophy in training is "Take all you want, eat all you take". That should settle that.
