How do you see the histogram on a Canon A640?

The manual shows a screen with a histogram but I cannot find how to get there.

    Have a look on pages 12 to 16 of your User Guide. Page 15 shows you that the Histogram can be found in the Detailed LCD information and page 12 shows you how to access it...

    While in Playback mode, press the DISP. button once or twice to see the Histogram.
