I studied Auslan (Australian sign Language) for a couple of years, I can help you there =D.

1st port of call, the TAFE colleges in your city, they run the courses. You could also contact your local Deaf society, they might have info about any other courses/groups that are being run (or they might run them themselves, the one in might city doesn't but who knows), you could also look into getting a tutor or something if that's more your thing, though going about doing that... i'd say the Deaf society is your best bet for doing that as well.

    online Auslan dictionary: http://www.auslan.org.au/

Keep in mind that this is ONLY THE VOCAB, knowing the vocab isn't even 10% of the battle, its the forming a sentence that's the hard part, you do need a native speaker to teach you how to do it (not to mention that not all the vocab can be shown in a dictionary, 'classifiers' [A type of word english doesn't have] need to be taught).

I was taught that Auslan is one of the hardest languages for a native english speaker to learn, (there are 4 levels of language difficulty [for a native english speaker] and Auslan is in the 4th category, along side japanese and arabic), it requires the most contact hours to become proficient.

I'm not trying to put you off, i tried learning other languages, it wasn't for me, but I started learning Auslan and discovered a passion, I found it much easier than french, even though french is one of the easiest languages to learn for a native english speaker, all because I had motivation. If you love learning it, you won't find it that difficult.

One language I have been wanting to learn is solresol or eaiea (musical languages like in close encounters of the third kind!)(I'm leaning towards eaiea) couldn't be more exotic =P

Well, it really depends on your preferences.

For example if you like Japanese anime, card games, novels/mangas or games, you might be interested in Japanese.

If you like MMOs then Korean might be more the language for you.

I think the most important would be that you have something you would like to use the language for, like: playing/reading/watching stuff in that language, speak to friends, relatives.

Among the exotic languages I have any insight to I would say Korean is the easiest to learn. Spanish is usually considered easy to learn and German shouldn't be hard either, though the "articles" can be a pain to remember.

Well, fairly easy to learn would be Spanish. A lot of Spanish words are similar to English in some way and as of right now, Spanish is probably the most useful language you could learn. I would recommend spanish (:

I personally recommend German. Currently many companies that do Business in Europe have large bases in Germany (Especially the Frankfurt area). This is because it is not only home to the third largest international airport in Europe but it also contains the headquarters of the European Bank. Therefore many companies with international offices will be more willing to hire someone able to speak German Fluently.

Also Germany has the best beer and brots in the world
