What do you think about giving homemade jam and chutney as a wedding favour?
I want to make something for my wedding favours instead of buying something. I was thinking of making jars of jam and chutney and giving each guest a jar of jam and chutney as a favour. We're not having a huge wedding, it's only going to be 100 or so at our wedding.
Do you think it is too much to make jam and chutney? Will it make us look cheap if we give homemade favours?

Thats what I had & everyone loved it! We bought gingham material to cover the lids & added little tags with their names on it, so they double up as place settings.
Honestly, everyone thought it was fab. I also bought little stick on labels from vistaprint.com saying our names & the date etc
Go for it!

I think it's a great idea. When people ask in here about our favorite favors, I always list the ones I got that were homemade blueberry and pineapple preserves (those were their colors) in small jars tied with ribbon. Then they had these cute tin containers to put the jars in. Everyone loved it and it looked nice on the tables, too.

I would love to get some homemade jam as a favor - I would totally use that, instead of tossing it like every votive candle and cheap picture frame I've gotten as favors. Great idea!

I think that is an absolutely wonderful idea and it's very personal. Guests like edible favors. Do it!
