Trailer tires don't cost any more or less than passenger tires so this excuse that you couldn't afford proper tires is nonsense.
Trailer tires can carry heavier loads and their construction is designed to make them follow the tow vehicle not the road like passenger tires will.
Just a generally bad idea all around.
