My computer crashed so I am using my laptop. I am trying to move my ITunes music to my new computer. Help.?

my main computer crashed. Fortunately I backed it up 2 days prior. I am trying to move my ITunes music to my new computer. I have installed ITunes on my new computer, did the Home Sharing thing, gave the new computer approval to access (or whatever ITunes calls it) but my music is nowhere to be found. Does anyone know how I can get it all back?

Much easier to just use an external hard drive. Pending your computer Operating System, the iTunes music will be located in C:\Documents and Settings\PROFILE\My Music\Itunes library\

If you have two Macs, just start up the crashed computer, open the folder:

Macintosh HD>Users>Home(or whatever you named your Home folder)>Music>iTunes>iTunes Media>Music

Now, using the Shared computer option, go to your laptop, open:

Shared>Your Computer>Home(after it asks you to login, which is the admin password for the MAIN computer)>Music>iTunes>iTunes Music

Then select all the artists you want on your laptop, and click and drag to either the desktop of your laptop or straight into iTunes on your laptop, and you're good.

    Best of luck!!!

Source(s): I have done this many times on my laptop at home, to get music from my parents (with their consent, of course). I have found that it's WAY easier to do it this way rather than inputting music into iTunes one single disc at a time.

the itunes folders themselves have to be copied. they contain the files and the authority files for your music. Hopefully only windows has crashed and the data sections are intact and an experienced person can retrieve them.
