Weird message being sent to my phone by using Yahoo Text Messaging?

"Send HELP IM to %d for info"

Yeah i got this too this morning, didn't have it last night, I fell asleep and when i woke up i sent a friend a text from my yahoo and he said it was there.

Other suspicious things: my screensaver didn't kick in and it should have, and a window for yahoo call records was open, now i could have accidentally opened that window not knowing it but i doubt it and i have no explanation for the screensaver.

How to fix this?

I uninstalled yahoo IM and reinstalled it but that did not fix the problem which implies to me that it might be connected to the ID but i also changed the password and it still didn't go away. so I ran a Malwarebytes scan (which is very good for finding unwanted malicious software of all kinds) and it came up with 0 infections found so i doubt its on my system.

sorry but this is all i can offer from my end to this problem, good luck to anyone else with this problem and if i find anything new ill make a post about it

today the message is gone and might be related to password change but i am unsure what exactly fixed it

Yes I just sent text from phone using yahoo messenger app on phone and person reply back stating same thing "Send Help IM to %d for info" they where puzzled thought in needed help maybe thought I was drunk. lol

I'm having the same freaking problem. At first I thought I was being hacked, but since half yahoo clients are having this issue I doubt its hacking.

Let's just hope yahoo gets this sorted out.

I am having the same issue. I just got a text about it and now it has suddenly disappeared from both our phones.

I sent a tech support e-mail about it. My wife got worried when she got the same thing from me and i am deployed to Iraq she was really worried. I will re-post if i get more info.

Mines doing this too! It just showed up a few minutes ago, I'm texting my friends and they're seeing it as well. This is crazy.

at Nick: They're on Sprint or VirginMobile networks not Verizon so it has to be an issue with Yahoo.

There must be an issue across the board, since several people have had the same issue...at the same time. Frustrating!

No its not only Verizon. It's happening on an AT&T phone too. It must be yahoo.

LOL...thats very ODD- i searched it just now and found your question,because my sister says my text to her is ending in that everytime right now! im gunna search around and when i find out what it is ill tell u...lol
