In gta 4 for ps3 why cant you die in free roam sometimes?

i sorry but i get mad at ignorent people who ask this but a will calmy answer:

if u cant die that means friendly fire is OFF which means other people cant kill u

other poeple can kill u if friendly fire is ON

if u want to change this go to single player go to your phone >go to setting or something and change

right now you have it set on "dont care" which makes it random which it to either yes no or dont care
