Want to study a solid subject in the u.k but I haven't done my gsce's because i was living abroad.?
Hi. I'm 18 years old and i have a problem. I want to study a solid subject such as accountancy but all colleges offer me are vocational courses.I've not done my GSCE's as I've been living abroad since the past 5 years. But my studies are equivalent to GSCE's. Can anyone give me some guidance.I've wasted one year in confusion and now I really don't want to waste another.

This depends on where you took these exams and what they are. See if you can find a Connexions office near you as they may be able to help. This is a government agency for education and careers. Failing that you could spend a year in a 6th form somewhere taking the GCSEs you need. This seems a bit desperate, I know, but if you want to do formal education and they insist on GCSEs you don't have much choice. You might also try correspondence courses, although these need lots of self discipline. With this, you could go straight to A level, once you'd looked at the syllabus and were sure you could do it.
