Hello there,
The Seymour Duncan P-rails are only moderate output pickups. However the PRS Mira are probably also moderate output. The PRS site does not really give the specs for the Mira line pickups. Their videos describe them an vintage sounding and that means to me, moderate output. So, I would not expect a significant drop in volume swapping out the Mira pickups for P-rails. Did you use a Seymour Duncan wiring diagram to install the new pickups? If not, go to his web site and pull one down. If you did use a SD diagram, go over the wiring again. I think you have something wrong. I am guessing an out of phase problem. Check the wires to see that they are run to the proper places. Also check the color codes on the new pickup wires. SD lists his color code for lead wires. Not every pickup manufacturer uses the same color code. Anyway, do go over the wiring again. You have something wrong in the wiring.

a while back i was going to get a set for my strat - well I got a new strat since then and never got around to it. Anyhoo I remember reading the specs and other user comments on certain pickups from Duncan will cause a drop in volume. It depends on what you use, so you should check into this first and formost before you assume there is a problem - maybe you'll get the "Type of sound " you're after with them but need to " Jack It Up" at the amp / use a higher wattage amp.
Read the specs and description on the pickup first. Read user comments online next. contact the company lastly, and if it definitely is not the pickup then move on to a guitar wiring issue, is my strongest advice.

besides the different stable solutions, sounds as in case you have been doing this as quickly as too in many situations, and have brought about the wear and tear attempting to get the two a inexpensive cable to paintings or had front end problems with the jack on the amp to start with. undesirable connections, contacts and no sign direction, initiate with loose or poorly made cables, plug ends, jacks and not making use of straight forward experience. Many skimp with inexpensive cables to connect their guitars to amps. in spite of inexpensive kit, the cable is the 'lifeline' between the gadgets and could be of high quality. constantly verify besides to maintain sparkling contacts in any respect plug ends on cables. Having some super steel wool or very super sandpaper, alcohol swabs and sparkling wipes or rags are ordinary approaches for such circumstances.

P-rails have a moderate output. If you've replaced high output pickups with the P-rails, you'll certainly notice a drop in volume.
