Is it ok to deep freeze food and have it a week later?
Is it ok to put food like mashed potatoes, beans, carrots, vegetables, peas etc. in the freezer and consume it a week later?

- rowlfeLv 71 decade agoFavorite AnswerOf course. Why would you think it isn't? There are frozen vegetables and precooked foods in the freezer section of a supermarket. There is no reason you can't freeze your own for later. I have a deep freeze where I have things that have been frozen for years. Just last week, I pulled out a package of home made Italian style sausage a friend of mine made 3 years ago and after it thawed, was as good as new. It cooked up exactly like it would if my friend had made it yesterday. I browned it in a frying pan and put it all, grease included, into my slow cooker with all the stuff to make pasta sauce. It was JUST the thing ... 
- Anonymous1 decade agoSure, but don't expect it to be as good as it was when it was fresh. Freezing food transforms the water molecules into jagged ice molecules, and when this happens, they can literally cut up the cell walls in your food, making them mushy.

- 1 decade agoDEEP FREEZING HELPS U TO PROTECT THE FOOD FOR SOME DAYS & CONSUME IT LATER BUT THE FACT IS THAT IT IS GOOD TO EAT FOOD FRESH AS FAR UR HEALTH IS CONSERNED .TO MUCH STORING MAY KEEP THE FOOD GOOD BUT NOT THE BEST .

- 1 decade agoI personally don't prefer to have frozen food and that to 1 week later...never... Even doctors also don't prescribe that.But due to busy schedule if you want to consume then have them within 2 days.Frozen food don't have any nutritions. 
- 1 decade agoyes it's ok to deep freeze the food , but once you thaw it don't deep freeze again...
