Im 13 years old. Im going downhill fast?
Hi. I am a 13 year old boy. I'm 5'6" and 113lbs. Please read this and help if you can.
I started this journey 5 months ago. I then weighed 137 lbs. For the first month i still ate the same, i just threw in some healthy foods. I also started excercising in wrestling practice and i noticed i had dropped to 127! I hadnt even tried to lose weight! Me and my mom were both happy because we knew i used to be a bit heavy.
The next month i continued to do this but i started cutting out bad food. My weight dropped from 127 to 124 in one week, then the next i dropped to 120. Me and my mom decided this was a good weight and that i shouldnt lose any more.
Month 3 was when it started getting bad. I had taken up counting calories and i set my limit to 1800. I thought counting calories would be "fun" (dont ask) and i enjoyed it for about a week. I would get about 1100 calories from my daily meals and then at night i would fill in the remaining 700 calories with snacks. I started reading online weight loss articles for "fun". I decided since i didnt need all of those snacks at night that i would lower my caloric intake to 1600. I wasnt weighing myself because wrestling season was over.
It keeps going downhill. I lower my calorie intake to 1400 and i try hard to stop counting calories (stress) and i am now going to the gym 3 times a week with my dad. I will only eat certain foods and i check the label of EVERYTHING. I have found a new website that i can look up nutrition on every food that i eat. I usually dont eat when we go out.
Month 5. The worst. I lower my calorie intake to 1100, regardless of starvation mode. I start counting calories. I have noticed a dramatic change in my energy level and at how cold i am. I now eat 900 calories daily. Yesterday and today i have binged. Today i skipped dinner because of my binge. I also tried to purge. I weigh myself every day and i am at 113. My parents and i fear that i have anorexia. Please help. I dont want this to ruin my life. Thanks..

Stop counting calories. i know it seems fun to do and its a a way to challenge yourself. its good that you eat helthy foods and excercise but do not go overboard with the calories. Its okay to eat more than 1800 calories. In fact, a boy that is your age is supposed to consume about 2000 calories. convince yourself not to purge and dont binge either. just eat what you did way back when. Its alright, you'll be okay. i have faith in you :) its good that you know you may have a problem and that you want it to stop. Dont starve yourself to the point you want to binge, and dont eat so much that you'll want to purge. manage yourself and you can get back to the healthy weight. good luck :)
