X-Rays. Help Me To Solve This Question?

An X-ray tube is operated at 50kV.

a) Find the highest frequency for emitted radiation

b) How Much heat is produced by each accelerated electron that does not produce an X-Ray

    a) E = h f

    f = e . V / h = 1.6 . 10^–19 . 5 . 10^4 / 6.63 . 10^–34 = 1.21 . 10^19 Hz

    b)Heat produced = energy of the electron = 5 . 10^4 . 1.6 . 10^–19 = 8.0 . 10^–15 J
