Is there a difference between the locations?
Im currently in process of going to USMC recruit training at MCRD SAN DIEGO, CA. At the same time I wouldnt mind going to PARRIS ISLAND, SC. What makes these two recruiting stations different? What battalions in recruit training are well known for the crazy s**t that happens? Are both locations considered to be the same "SHEER HELL" regardless of battalion? Personally I want to be in a battalion where it is "sheer hell" and "crazy s**t" happens everyday. So I can have the biggest reward out of training and not be disappointed with the outcome. Any help is appreciated. Thanks again.
By the way Ive been to south carolina. And the Marine Corps will send me to San Diego no matter what because of me living in Colorado.

San Diego has mount mother F#cker, but Parris Island has the sand fleas and the mystery of it being across a bridge in the middle of F'n nowhere...at Parris Island 3rd battalion is off by itself and has the rep as being the harsher of the battalions...we even heard from 1st and 2nd battalion that was the word...not sure if it is true or not.
