I've just graduated from Leicester uni - it's not a bad city, lots of different cultures and it's fairly friendly. There's a nice bar near the uni, on London Road, called the Lansdowne - it has a good atmosphere and they have a great cocktail list! There are a few good cinemas, and a new shopping centre called Highcross with lots of shops and restaurants.

If you're still there in November, there's a great firework display at Abbey Park on or around the 5th - it'll be advertised online.

    Have a great time!

Leicester is a 70 minute train journey from London St Pancras - Book in advance for the cheapest fares www.eastmidlandsrtrains.co.uk

Manchester is a 2 hour trip including a change of train at Sheffield

Leicster is a medium size town with most of the usual facilities. Not particularly exciting. Very multicultural

2 and a half hours by coach from London victoria, it is a bit boring but depends what part you go to, it's nothing like London, like the shops and activites.
