What does it mean if a bird flies into an open window?

If it was a small bird like a sparrow it could be that it saw the room was cosy with house plants and coloured ornaments or maybe it was chased by bigger birds.

If it was a bigger bird like a crow it's a bad omen and a sign of death.

There was nothing smart or sassy about either of the first two answers. It MEANS nothing spiritually and it's not a Doomsday event if a bird flies into a room through the window. Maybe the bird was attracted by a smell inside. They have excellent senses of smell. Maybe the bird was attracted by the shade or the temperature. Birds get hot, too. That's another reason so many of them fly north in the summer.

Sorry, but it does mean you need to close your window or get a screen for it. It does not really have any meaning. Not sure why people try to make nature mystical and unnatural. This is not the dark ages..it means a bird flew into your window and that is IT!
