Do other people thumb down another person answer so they can get best answer?

I'm sure some on here probably thinks that will increase their chances, but that function on here is misused and I personally pay no attention to it. Some of the answers with the most thumbs downs gets chosen Best Answer.

Some users give thumbs down to others' answers simply because they CAN.

Or because they don't like the user's avatar.'

Or username.

Or they don't like the answer.

Or the ANSWERER.

The purpose of the thumbs-down feature is to show disagreement with an answer, or to show that an answer is WRONG, not to use it to make others look bad. It is constantly misused, and is essentially meaningless.

NOPE.they just do not like the answer or the person.

I just ignore it,the asker can pick any best answer they want.

it's irrelevant and just a way to have fun.some get so mad
