Blues aficionados, students of rhythm?

What do you call that beat that sort of rides the groove in between straight eighth notes and a blues shuffle? I know how to feel it and play it, I just don't know if it has a name or what it is called.

Update:

It is more of a feel. Someone plays the shuffle based on 16th note triplets while someone else in the rhythm section plays more of a straight 8th note quarter note feel, and they kind of drift back and forth. Ry Cooder, John Hiatt, Jim Keltner on drums sort of groove.
