Do you think DWTS, its judges, and producer conspired that Hines and Kym would win the MirrorBall trophy?

Let me know what you think and why. I am curious about this situation/issue.

    No. Not a conspiracy.

Athletes always do well on that show. Why? Because they are in outstanding physical shape and have great agility skills.

Ballroom dance requires an awareness of one's physical presence, as well as physical stamina, attention to detail, ability to play to the crowd ... etc. A top performer needs to be an outstanding showman as well as a great technician.

There's more to it than learning and executing the steps. There is showmanship, and flair. The dancer has to feel it and express it. Anyone can learn the steps and execute the moves. But it will feel like a learned exercise.

Dance is as much expression as it is execution. Either without the other doesn't work. Some of it is technical and can be taught and learned ... much of it is instinctual and is either a part of a dancer's nature or it isn't. THAT part cannot be taught. The talent to perform is probably a personality trait. Some lucky few have it, most of us don't. Even those of us who can learn it probably won't ever be as comfortable with it as those for whom it comes naturally!
