Should smileys be added as punctuation marks in next version of English Grammar?
If so many geek words and web shorthands find their place in dictionary (lol being the most prominant case), why not include smileys as authentic punctuation marks? it'll save so much exposition on part of the writer.

I don't think it would be very easy to do, because the computers wouldn't reliably be able to tell whether someone wants to make an emoticon, or whether they just want to put a semicolon and a bracket next to each other. People put emoticons when they want to convey some kind of emotion, a component of human communication which computers do not yet understand.

No. A big No. It's an insult to the language, no matter which language it is. It should not be added.
