Er, no.
With over 20,000 laws on the books controlling guns, another one is not the way to go - we need enforcement of existing laws. Many times you read in the paper about some armed felon having a gun charge reduced so as to get a lighter sentence.
Gun control is not about guns; it's about control.

"Do you think guns should be reserved for violent criminals?"
"Do you think our safest cities - and indeed all of our cities - should be compelled to implement policies more like our most dangerous ones?"
"Do you think places WITHOUT mass-casualty violence should be compelled to adopt the same polices that 100% of mass-shooting venues had in place?"
