Can you still smoke in Vegas?

I was wondering. I don't even smoke anymore, I vape and I hear you can freely vape there (then again, why couldn't you?). But I'm just curious... When you hear of New York and all that...

Update:

I'm glad I'm not going to the Igreja Lusitana because I'm certain The Padre's prechings must be wonderful. He likes throwing things in the air, speaking of fire and brimstone maybe and I find that utterly unscientific. I emailed him, but I do believe a load of people would like to know what makes him scientifically claim that vaping is "a liitle better" for the lungs and eventually turns one's brain into some kind of vegetable. That sure is one heck of a statement, since I've never ever seen anything like that, not even in the most biased reports! We want to know, Padre, we need to know, show us the truth. I'll tell you this: I make my own liquids. I use VG (glycerin), PG (propylene glycol), a little nicotine because I want to and, yes, I also have coffee - espresso, as we traditionally have in Portugal; doctors say it's a good thing, they've even found a few brain, yes brain, benefits in nicotine, and finally flavours - most of them don't even have one single tobacco molecule and the

Update 2:

Preachings, not prechings, sorry about typing fast. It's really not an IQ thing. :)

Update 3:

Jesus (if you'll allow me), some people, based on faith and not caring at all about the truth as we really may know it, especially those who "discover Jesus" will easily get you off your mind! Proceeding from the first part: and the very few ones that do aren't created for food (and why would they?) but aren't even cured tobacco, contain very basic traces of TSNA's if any and, quite frankly, the tobacco plant per se is just a plant. What planet do you come from with your twisted statements? Give us real science. Because I can give you better (truer, hence more realistic) science anytime, believe me.

Update 4:

Ok, every answer was good in its own way, except for The Padre's answer, which was nothing but a newer way of frightening people with hell's image (because nobody's that afraid of hell anymore, the idea is to frighten people) so they can keep their power. Hence, I chose Vince's while still thanking each and everyone. :)

In Las Vegas, wherever you can gamble, you can smoke.

They have smoking and non-smoking rooms.

You can smoke at the bars, but not the restaurants.

Last time I went to Vegas was right after Christmas (2010). I was able to smoke anywhere in the casinos except the non smoking sections like the food plaza's which is understandable.

Some casinos have designated non-smoking areas now. Many poker rooms are non-smoking, and there are some designated other areas on the casino floor that are non-smoking. But you can still smoke in most other areas of the casinos. Most all restaurants are also non-smoking.

I stayed at Circus Circus last September and they weren't letting people smoke in the casino then I don't think unless they had a smoking area shut off from the rest of it. You can smoke outside definitely.

Sure, you can smoke in Las Vegas, and particularly if you happen to be on fire.

That said, it helps to remember that, on average, the gamblers are always going to lose. The casino owners are there to make money for their shareholders and not for their customers, and they are very good at that.

Smokers are gambling too: not with their money (although they're spending an awful lot of it) but with their health. Having worked on a pulmonary ward, I can tell you that losing from smoking is a heck of a lot worse than losing at Vegas. If you lose at Vegas, you may end up bankrupt. If you lose as a smoker, you will end up, after months and years of real pain and misery, dead.

And in either case, the company doesn't care, because the stockholders are making money.

[You didn't ask, but I'll throw this in for free-- deciding to vape instead of smoking may be a little better for your lungs, but will wipe out your brain cells until your IQ is similar to that of a carrot. Your own decision, of course, but... try to make it while you're still capable of lucid thought. [Good luck!]

You cannot smoke in the hotel rooms or where food is served.
