i saw a women scratch the top of a non organic watermellon today?
then she smelled it i wondered if she was wondering if the funny illnesses were ripe yet what was she getting out of smelling herbisides and pestisides

This is a old technique for finding if it is ripe enough to eat.You approach your nose to the top or bottom areas and if it smell good you buy it.
It sounds crazy but it works.

Scratching the watermelon is a rude way to expose the flesh to check for ripeness. A more appropriate way is to smell the stem end (where the watermelon was attached to the vine). a sweet smell will indicate a ripe watermelon. This works especially well for cantaloupes and honeydew. And, it does not leave scratch marks on a watermelon you may not buy. .

her fingernails are dirty. i know you are to thump a watermelon to see if it is ripe. it it to sound like an old boot.
