Where can you buy around 50 gallons of liquid oxygen and how old do you have to be to buy it?
Me and my friends want some cryogenic fluids such as liquid oxygen, nitrogen, and argon. None of us have looked into where we can buy it and if we're even allowed (we're all 18). Any idea where we can get it and how much it costs? (we want it for an experiment (freezing stuff).

Industrial gasses are very commonly sold, since you don't say where you are i can't give you a specific supplier but it shouldn't be hard to find a vendor nearby, Airgas is one big company who I think covers most of the US.
Nitrogen shouldn't be too much of a problem, though a 50gal Dewar (that's the container to put it in, which can be reused) may cost you somewhere around $3000 someone with established credit could no doubt rent the tank, but I'm not so sure about a bunch of 18 year olds, 50 gal of LN2 maybe $100 or so.
Based on the cost of getting my argon gas tanks for welding filled I would expect liquid argon to be scary expensive. However, while I didn't find a specific retail price, I found some evidence that liquid argon may be around 4 times the price of LN2 which seem pretty reasonable.
I can't imagine any one selling an 18 year old 50 gallon of liquid oxygen. In fact, while it is quite unlikely, I wouldn't be all that shocked if your asking gets you a visit from the FBI. (Liquid oxygen can accelerate burning to the point where it resembles an explosion.)

you can get small quantities, like a liter, of liquid 02 from medical supply stores. it is used by people with difficulty breathing. 50 gallons would be too dangerous a quantity to have around. i suggest you try asking a pharmacist about it.
