You should try calling her a couple times before you decided to ask her out, but call don't text. When you ask her out do it in person if possible if not CALL her and ask her on a date, then go from there. Girls do like confidence in a guy, so the more upfront you are about your feeling the better, but also know there is a chance you will be rejected, don't let it get to you, don't be an asshole about it, and keep that friendship.
