where can i find a female boxer to breed with my stepson's male boxer?

my [adult] stepson's male boxer is a great dog..he is 8 yrs old which is getting old for a boxer..we want to stud him out soon to get a puppy before he is too old or dies....he is 100% boxer but is not show quality....i hear that people with show quality female boxers only want to breed them with show quality males for obvious reasons....where can we find someone with a female boxer that isnt necessarily show quality and wouldnt require the male be show quality?.we live in maryland..

Any back yard breeder or puppy mill.

Just because your stepsons boxer is a great dog has little to do with how his pups would turn out. All you would really be doing is adding to the HUGE overpopulation of dogs/pets that get put down every day in shelters because people thing its ok to just breed two dogs together, for whatever reason. The ONLY dogs that should EVER be bred are show or working dogs that have proven themselves in the ring or field, are registered with a legitimate registration & have went through extensive health checks.

If you are looking for a puppy go to your local shelter or breed rescue & leave the dog breeding to the people who breed to IMPROVE the breed not to just have puppies.

    Female Boxer Looking For Stud

You would be producing 8 or so dogs just to get one?

Plus, you have no idea what is behind your dog or those of the bltch - you could end up with a completely different dog than what you have, and one with health problems to boot.

There are plenty of Boxer puppies to be had through the Boxer Club in your area -

You only need one. It would be a shame to not only have the other 7 be extra, but most likely also be sent out into the world top themselves reproduce for no reason.

There are 7,823 Boxers on Petfinder.com today with no homes.

Please don't add to that just to get one puppy.

No where unless its another backyard breeder. Your dog is far too old to be breeding and unlikely to get a female pregnant. Dogs should only be bred between 2-6 yrs old at the most - so call your vet and neuter him.

If you want another Boxer, adopt another one - don't be breeding pet quality Boxers. You have NO clue as to the genetic problems he could pass on.

Don't breed a dog when there are so many unwanted animals in shelters are dying every day. Please don't add to the problem. Don't bring puppies into a world where they will never find a home. Boxers are capable of producing very large litters. It would be so wrong of you to do this. Please. There are too many animals and not enough loving and responsible owners.

By the time you spend the money to get his medical clearances you could just buy a well-bred boxer pup. There is no shortage of Champion male boxers in this country.

a dog that is not show quality should not be bred

anyone who would use a non-show stud will just have a poorly bred female.. no genetic health testing

if you want a pup, then adopt or buy from a reputable breeder.

no where. Responsible breeders do not ask where to get a dog and do not breed dogs that are over 7 years.

Why would you want to breed more sub-par quality dogs? I don't understand just enjoy your dog while you have him don't replace him before he is gone!
