Are you glad SCOTTY MCCREERY won idol?
I am, ever since he walked into the door for auditions i said he is my favorite and if he doesn't win idol i'd kill someone.

very much, of course! scotty is a talented young man who works hard and loves god. for a 17 year old, he is a very together kind of guy. and that deep voice. it gets me everytime. i don't think a deep baritone voice has ever been featured on the show.
i thought i had outgrown the show and planned not to watch it again (i quit after season 9). it was because of scotty that i started watching again. during the top 11 episode, i heard scotty sing for once in my life, and he took the song to a direction that i never thought was possible. it just worked! so i became interested enough to look up his other performances. and then i knew he was the next american idol. i didn't even need to see the other contestants. i already knew he had it. and since then i never missed an episode. so i'm super glad he won.
TO SAM, i don't care if he sings only country music and he doesn't hit high notes a lot. i like someone who knows exactly what he wants to be as an artist and works hard to get there. he's true to himself and guess what? it works. the simple fact is that he's very good at what he does even if it's the only thing that he does. and it's pretty impressive that amidst all the screams and wails on the show, his subtlety wasn't lost on the audience. we get him.
glory noting is overrated, anyway. it's not a singer's fault that his voice developed that way so it shouldn't be taken against him that he can't hit a high C. there are many songs that don't require the singer to produce notes that only dogs can hear. so you need to get over the fact that he's not and will never be adam lambert (who i also love but not as much as scotty). plus, a lot of times, it does sound like cats getting skinned alive. and that's coming from someone who listens to mariah carey.
PS: i'm a 24 year old male. what, does it shock you that scotty has fans who aren't teenage girls?

He was probably quite impressive during the auditions with his looks and deep voice for a 17year old... okay, i understand why people would like him and all. Then week after week.... his singing is the same, no variety, not much range. I bet he can't even hit a high note. Nothing spectacular enough to win idol.
.To the people who said he deserved it, how so? Everyone put as much work into their songs each week, plus the fact that Scotty's singing range and variety is the same every week... no breakthrough at all. & The judges suck.
Worst season yet.
p.s. Best american idol winner and country singer = Carrie Underwood

I didn't watch most of the season, but watching back some of the performances, I could tell enough about him. He has a solid voice, but nothing spectacular enough to win Idol. For an Idol winner, I'm looking for somebody that can blow me away, and he just never did it.

American Idol has become pointless to me. I mean, doesn't matter who wins cause nearly everyone who makes the top 8 at least will get some kind of record deal. But still congratz I guess. Not watching it anymore. Was overall disappointed save for James Dubin and that really smoking hot girl with the nice voice but plain personality. Forget her name though.

Absolutely yes! I wonder how Jordan Dorsey (the guy who picked on him in the Group Rounds) feels about Scotty winning? LOL

Not really. I bet if all the teen girls that voted for him over and over were only allowed to vote once he wouldn't have made top 5. They should really make a limit of votes per household.

My mother is very happy.
And I have never watched American Idol.

no...i don't like that type of country music. I only like Keith Urban, Shania Twain, and Carrie Underwood...if i decide to listen to country

I am sorry, but I do not like country music, I do not like his overly Christian ideals, and I do not like his voice. But whatever, the guy earned it I guess.
