yugioh question assault mode vs solemn judgment?

My opponent use assault mode activate SS red dragon archfiend assauld mode i use solemn judgment he brings back his red dragon from the grave yard.... is that right? because assault mode negates the summon so its effect should have never worked right?

    It should be noted that cards' effects don't automatically activate. If you negate the summon, it's effect doesn't activate EVEN IF! it's a continuous effect.

    See that Jinzo's summon can be negated by a trap card. Similarly, this is applied to RDA.

    You can't use Solemn Judgment against Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode because it was Special Summoned via card effect. You have to Solemn the Assault Mode Activate.

    You are correct. Because Assault Mode technically never hit the field because his summon was negated, he cannot summon Red Dragon Archfiend. You should also slap him in the face for using Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode in the first place.
