In the meantime though, I would suggest going up to people and just saying hi. Some people may shoot you down, but if you let yourself get phased by this, you'll never get rid of these problems. There is always someone who will help you. Just be yourself and someone will take a liking to you. I promise.

You shouldn't feel lonely at all. Because people are fickle. You must rely on yourself. Start doing something for yourself and you wouldn't feel boring and lonely. It's better to stay alone than hanging around with a bunch of ignorant slackers. Be yourself!

I felt like that before, actually many times. all I can tell you is to just keep living life, and for me, it eventually got better. I met new people in my classes and stayed close to one of my really good friend who I knew was there for me. If you don't have anyone at all, then just start talking to people who seem nice enough to befriend. you aren't gonna stop feeling like this unless you just keep telling yourself that time goes on.
