MS Word - combine page count of multiple sections?
I have a document that has multiple sections which needs advanced page numbering in the footer. The first section is the title page and must not have numbers. Second section contains TOC and executive summary, etc and is to have roman numerals starting from i. The remaining sections are a combination of portrait and landscape sections. I want page numbering on remaining sections to act as a single section e.g. "pg. 1 of 40".
While it's easy to continue the page numbering, its not easy to automate the page count. Anyone got suggestions?

Hello Matt
Things to remember, there should be section breaks between the pages where they differ, and in addition, on the header footer toolbar, be sure to break the link to previous. Aside from that, each section break you should define page numbering formats.
1st section title page - no page numbering applied
(insert break next page)
2nd section TOC and executive summary - view header footer Format page number select roman numerical numbering. remove Link to Previous
(insert break next page)
3rd section view header footer format page number to 1 2 3... remove Link to Previous
On the Header footer toolbar, you can click on Insert autotext then click on Page X of Y. For each page in this section to change the orientation there must be a new section leaving Link to Previous applied, just change the orientation from Portrait to Landscape.
hope this helps,
