WHAT AM I LOOKING FOR. I have a router but the signal won't go through the wall in an ajacent building.?
I had one in Iraq that picked up the signal from outside then wired it in, my walls were really thick and the router was about 50 yards away. The router is an N and is in line of site through a window to the wall i want to go through. I have signal at the wall but not inside(metal building) I want to hang one outside and wire in. The one i had before was in a box that i built, looked like a bird house hanging on the wall. Aproximate distance from router to wall is 35 yards. Thanks

For home Wifi routers the range is quoted to be 100 feet. There are special antennas to extend that range. Metal structures attenuates radio signal more than concrete walls.
