How mean can people be?

People can be very mean or nice. Depends on the person. One really mean person in Milwaukee, Wisconsin came up to me complaining how I speak English with a little accent. I explained I came from the Republic of China or better known as Taiwan. I may have an accent, but I write very well and form complete sentences. He got angry I was successful enough to drive a Honda Civic, and wear decent clothing. He said my kind is not welcome in America. I was like f*** you I'm more American than you are. All I did was park on the side of the street to go buy some groceries and he came up to my face and won't leave me alone.

Some people are mean because of insecurities or stress or they feel like theyve been wronged. I'd like to believe that everyone has a good heart with pure intentions at least at their basic level although I have been called naive. The meanest people I've seen have lashed out for no reason except for they felt guilty that they did something wrong and took it out on the person who made them feel that way. They did that through harassment and exploiting the insecurities of the victim while making fun of them as well. Some people are born or raised predisposed to being mean or aggressive but many can make the conscious choice to be kind and pleasant. Unfortunately, alot of people enjoy being cruel, which I don't understand. Perhaps it makes them feel powerful, or as I said before it could be based on their insecurities or upbringing.

I got too many examples the people these days just forgot whats good.
