computer files question?
i am trying and i mean trying, to put my record vinyl on my pc...i have thousands here...i figured out how to get them on the computer..but i dont understand where i put them?...i try everything to find them after i save them (save project)...i dont understand what "destination" is and file name...i just put them in my "audacity" folder automatically and when i clik on documents there is a little part spread all over in documents so when i clik on one it plays a real small part of each song which is separated into tons of little parts.....i am not fluent in this you may tell. but i am moving and i have a extensive record collection i need to put on my computer and then i will worry about putting them on cd s......i s there a simple destinatin i can undrstand to put the whole recordings of an album on so when i clik it it will show an play the whole album...? signed, not to bright here...heheh

Do not save the 'project'. That is for editing large mix files. What you're seeing are the parts of that project. After you digitized the song you need to 'export' the file to a WAV or MPEG file. Then when you close the window, it'll ask you if you want to save the project, just click 'no'. There is a video here that might give you some pointers.

The easiest way for you to find them would be to make a new folder on the desktop (right click on an empty space and hover over new, then select folder.) name it music or whatever you choose. Then put your music in there. You can fid the music youve already placed by clicking on start and searching for audacity.
