If you get into an accident and a passenger is hurt , he can sue and get the information from the cars computer that you drove it "x" times knowing it was unsafe and never fixed it, thus winning with a law suit with slam dunk? If the person dies you may also incur criminal charges!

This might be true, so long as you understand the legal definition of "passenger" -- someone who pays for transportation. So this argument would only apply to a taxi, bus, or similar vehicle.
It could also apply to a case where you had a business invitee in your car. For example, a real estate agent might drive people to houses they were considering buying or renting.
You do not, however, owe this kind of duty to a social guest (someone who does not pay for transportation, nor has any business relationship to you). You have no obligation to provide or maintain affirmative means to assure their safety.
