Cash isn't king anymore. A dealership can get green "cash" from you NOW, or submit a financed deal to a bank and get funded within hours, plus they get back end bonuses for the financing.

The whole cash argument is entirely and utterly irrelevant these days. If anything they'll be more willing to give you a better deal if you're financing through them or their lenders (since they make money on the back end). Just pay it off in a month or two and you won't have paid hardly anything in interest.

Negotiating these days takes place on your computer before you ever go car shopping. The internet allows us to find where the deals are at.

Simple I do it all the time. Just tell them. Are they willing to negotiate a price for cash. If it is a new Vehicle and it is say $30,000 just say I will give you $ 28,000 or $ 29,000 cash. Or if you want them to name a price and you have that price in mind just say how is it if I pay cash. If you don't like the price they offer go somewhere else. Especially if it is something new you want to buy, such as white goods and furniture where the mark ups are high shop around. Some retailers offer no discount for cash, well give them a miss those sort of people are not worth dealing with. Be firm and don't show any doubt or hesitation. Remember they need a sale too. Good Luck Geoffrey

unless the dealer is carrying the financing, they will get cash anyway. Try negotiating on other terms. Added accessories, tank of gas. new tires extended warranty etc.
