  • In Moncton, N.B. does anyone know where to get a premolded roof corner flashing?

Repairing a roof. I have an inside corner that needs a flashing. The problem is, that the bottom of this corner rests on a shed roof with about a 2/12 or possible 3/12 pitch. I am looking for a flashing that sets in the corner but has a bottom on it that is on a slant to sit flat on that roof. It can be made with aluminum and shears, but it will have a hole where the lap is. That is why I need a molded or preformed one piece one.

  • why do so many people mis-pronounce Halloween?

This event is from a 2000 year old event called "All Hallows Eve " This would mean Hallow rhymes with "shallow" not "swallow". I guess people see the Hall and think of a place where we might dance etc.?? Just sayin !!

  • Can you identify this instrument?

It is a bass without strings. It is basically an acoustic guitar shaped box [no neck] The bass sounds come from "plucking" about 8 thin wooden vibrating strips that are fastened over a sound hole. The one I saw was acoustic and had a foreign sounding name which I can't recall. It was tuned by adjusting the wood strips in their holder. I want to learn more about this on line but can't find it without the actual name of it. Anybody able to help me out?

  • A Challenge for you computer "whizzes" Please help me out?

I have a very basic printer. an hp deskjet d2360 . It stopped working. When I ask for a print, the paper goes into the printer as though it is going to print but it stops before printing anything and the light on the printer is blinking [all the time] I have restarted the spooler, cleaned and removed the black cart. for 24 hrs.,reloaded the print disk, rebooted the printer and computer several times and checked the usb cable for continuity. In the control panel, this is the default printer but it shows a status of "off line".

I am hoping someone can tell me what is going on, rather than just guessing, as I have already been doing.

    Thanks for looking.

  • Modern language question [students]?

I was taught that "the" when used before a noun beginning with a vowel was pronounced more like "thee". Is this still taught in school? I hear things like ".The office" or "the animal" etc and the is pronounced "thuh" It sounds awkard and clunky when used on tv and radio etc. When the long e is used it smooths out the speech. Just wondering If the language is changing or just being beat up by quite a few folks [some of whom are fairly well educated]

  • [so] why have so many people started to begin sentences with "so"?

I guess this does not really require an answer, but it sounds a bit strange to add a totally unnecessary word to a question. Or am I the only one who has noticed this?

  • laminate floor deep cleaning?

Have a light colored, low price [i think] laminate floor in a kitchen. This has not been regularly maintained and has a buildup of dirt that is not easily removed using reccommended methods for laminate. Anyone have a good way to give it a serious cleaning without using a lot or liquid? Possibly it is a buildup of a wax product? or some other cleaner ? Just bought the old fixer upper.
