Budgie female rejection?

I've had a male budgie for a couple of months now and I bought a female today.hes already trying to court her but she ignores him I think he's tried to preen her but she stops him immediatly. Is she rejecting him or is it to early to tell because if she "rejects" him I can take her back and get a different 1 for free.

Firstly, you shouldn't put a new budgie straight in with a budgie you already own.

It is a good idea to quarantine new birds away from ones you have so that any new viruses or ailments can pass themselves on.

Also, its not a good idea to put a new female with a male and expect them to be best friends. She has just come from familiar surroundings to a new place with a new cage, new food and a new friend. It will take some time before she settles down enough to bond with the male.

Lastly, if you plan to breed these birds in the future, make sure you do a lot of research. They should be at least 12 months old, with adequate space, nutrients, environment etc.

Its not as simple as putting a male and female together and crossing your fingers.

Its still to early to tell give them some more time it can take months for them to bond but not all birds get along. I have a pair of cockatiels and the first time I bought a female for my male he rejected her and they never got along now I have a pair who gets along great. Just wait a little longer separate them for a few days then try again. Just be patient. You wouldn't like being put with a guy and expected to like them as soon as you meet him. Good luck.

i THINK its too early, cause they need to bond and stay together for a little while. about weeks or even months, i guess. BUT MAKE SURE TO HAVE A NEST!!!! cause then she can possably lay her eggs on the floor, and i doubt anyone wants that! :)
