How do you build your own website?
I am wanting to start a small buisness selling things on my own website so I don't have to pay stupid prices on ebay etc.
So does anyone know of any really good sites that I can build my website on preferably a free one as not much money.
Thanks

Building a website sounds all complicated and can be intimidating but I assure you it is not. It's quite simple really, it just takes some experience. In my opinion, you are going to want your own domain and host. The reason being is that people are more comfortable shopping at reputable online stores and not just some site thrown together. That said, it would be better have a site like www.mycoolproductsite.com than to have www.mycoolproductsite.blogspot.com. So what is the difference? The latter is a free hosting site. You get stuck with annoying URL's that seem unprofessional. The first one is a realistic domain name you can buy. You're right in starting your own site instead of paying all those annoying ebay fees, because it eats up your profit.
You can host your own domain for an entire year for less than $60. So what do I mean host a domain? A domain is the site address (www.mysite.com) and the host is the server in which all your sites files are stored on. If you are not familiar with coding, you can also use wordpress, which is what is called a WYSIWYG program where you just drag and drop basically. Wordpress is great.
I would suggest using a hosting service that is affordable, reputable, and has simple wordpress installs. My suggestion is to go to www.motivatedtoearn.com/bluehost
This is where I host ALL 6 of my websites.
Good Luck!

Hi !
The free options are good, but if you don't know much about SEO, Keywords, HTML and so on....
Then you are much better off with a package called SBI (site build It).
This will cost you some money, but if you follow the guidelines, you can easily build a website that is optimized for the search engines and keywords and that way you will get traffic.
Without traffic, no income, so this is really important.
The package takes you by the hand from scratch and in the meantime it takes all the hard stuff (like SEO, keywords, submitting to SEO, HTML) away, so you can concentrate on your business.
To earn the money back is really easy, but building a website takes a lot of time and energy.
But if you are motivated, this is the way to go.....

Homestead.com is owned by intuit (the people that make quickbooks) very easy to build and manage, the rates are reasonable 19.99 per month for standard - I think it's 29 or 39 if it's a store, you can design your own with click and drag ease or just pick from one of 100 templates. THE BEST PART IS ITS FREE FOR THE FIRST 30 DAYS

Here's a guide (This is where you lean down and find a guide)
It's called Website building for dummies (open up to page 9)
You then read the second paragraph (sorry for the rude words on the side)
Buy some virtual cement at Walmart and read the book
hope I helped

There are several websites out there to build a website on- if you want it completely free, something like Webs (http://www.webs.com/) is a good choice. Other sites, like Intuit (http://websitebuilder.intuit.com/get-a-website2-st... offer a free trial.

why don't you build a website of you own. register a domain and install zencart. then you're good to go. but the disadvantage of this is that you have to put some effort on SEO and getting targeted traffic.
