Is there any fix for a iphone that fell into the pool?

Friend took a swim, along with his iphone so now it won't work. Since this phone costs over $200, does any tech know if it can be salvaged?

Update:

Oh, this is a 16GB, 3GS one.

Take the back and the sim card out and put it in a bowl of rice in the microwave.

Sounds weird. But stick it in a bag or a bowl of rice for 24 hours. Done it multiple times with perfect results.

Rice has some magical (well not really) water absorption properties.

Put your iPhone in a tub or dish of it and leave it.

Any high street mobile phone vendor/unlocker can help otherwise.

Try putting it in rice? A lot of my friends put their phones that they dropped in water or whatever in a bowl of uncooked rice for a while and it works again.
