I have a John Deere LX178 that dies after 20-30minutes of running.?

I then have to let it cool down before it will restart and then will die again after 10-15 minutes. This is a Kawasaki 15 1/2 hp liquid cooled v-twin. I have tried opening the gas cap and that does not seem to be the problem. Is this a gas issue , vacuum or cooling issue? When it dies, there is no fuel in fuel filter, which has been replaced. Other than this, it runs great, when running. Any ideas?

Quiting when hot and working when cooled is a symptom of a failing ignition coil. Next time it quits check the spark. If it doesn't have spark until it cools down it could be that the coil is bad.

Check the fuel line and make sure it isn't clogged, if not then youll most likely need a new fuel pump
